Body & Soul – The Art of
Healing Inc.
A non-profit organization designed to blend the numerous
resources of Jacksonville’s Arts community into an extensive offering for
healthcare institutions. The mission of Body & Soul is to enhance the
quality of healthcare through the Arts, and extend the Arts through service
to the community. In its brief history, Body & Soul has been able to offer
the talents of hundreds of Jacksonville’s musicians and artist, to thousands
of patients, family members, and staff involved with local healthcare
facilities. Body & Soul has been involved in helping to promote awareness
of various healthcare issues, and assist in research involving the Arts and
it’s impact on the healing process. Because of its efforts, Body & Soul’s
founder (James E. Jenkins) was awarded the 2002 Cultural Council
“Outstanding Individual” Arts Award. |
